What exactly does FingerString do?
We make an automated, interactive telephone call using a voice based technology similar to Alexa or Siri. If the person being called doesn’t anwer after a series of re-tries, FingerString will reach out to your staff or the supporting family member so that appropriate action can be taken. When they do answer, we can give them friendly reminders about important tasks and appointments.
The missed call notifications can be configured in a variety of ways to suit your organization: calling/texting family members, texting your staff, or just through our dashboard. What we don’t do is make more phone calls to your already busy staff.
With so many spam calls, how will a Resident know who's calling?
When a resident signs up for FingerString, we send a contact card link to their phone which adds our number to their contacts list. The resident sees a caller ID name so they never have to wonder who’s on the line.
With FingerString for Assisted Living, we can customize the contact card so that the incoming call can be visible as coming from your organization.
Also, FingerString is fully compliant with the FCC’s STIR/SHAKEN protocols, which are a set of technologies designed to authenticate callers and fight robocalling.
How is the staff notified when a resident doesn't answer?
In the FingerString web portal we provide a Resident Dashboard that lists all of your enrolled residents, and color-codes them according to their response status: green for residents who answered their call today, yellow for residents who are still in the retry period, and red for residents who did not answer. You can also configure your organization so that FingerString will send a text notification to a staff member’s phone or notify a family member.
What is the retry period? How many times do you call?
For each resident you can define a retry frequency: low, medium, or high. At the highest level, we will make 4 calls over the course of an hour before considering that resident as having “failed to answer”. By using a retry schedule, we avoid false alarms for residents who just may not be near their phone when the first call comes in.
